Where do I even begin with my whirlwind of an adventure at Pearl Lemon?Â
Picture this: I started at Pearl Lemon in May 2023 as a Human Resources graduate, hired as Human Resources and Accountability Support. I was equipped with academic knowledge but lacked practical experience. Little did I know that within a week, I’d go from being the “new kid” to Head of Human Resources! The speed at which I transitioned from a support role to a leadership position was both thrilling and humbling.
I’ll be honest, in the beginning when I started as a Human Resources graduate, I was a mix of nerves and excitement, trying to absorb the ins and outs of this dynamic team. But let me tell you, the Pearl Lemon team made me feel very welcome! I was met with a team that not only welcomed me with open arms but also provided me with the tools and support necessary for me to thrive. I began to experience the realm of opportunities, growth, and camaraderie that I had never encountered before.

In those initial days, I assisted the former Head of Human Resources with all HR tasks, and I ensured that employees were kept accountable. (I’m sure all the employees loved when I reminded them to complete tasks)
I learned very quickly and became very aware of all the processes within my first week.
However, the most remarkable turn of events occurred when I was offered the role of Head of Human Resources – a position that felt miles away from my current station. I definitely felt a mix of exhilaration and disbelief. I must admit, I was like a deer caught in the headlights.Â

From that point onward, I was no longer just a fresh graduate testing the waters; I had a huge responsibility that came with its own set of challenges and rewards. As I delved deeper into the intricacies of Human Resource Management, from employee relations to performance evaluations, I found myself realizing the full scope of my potential. Pearl Lemon offered me more than just a job; it provided a platform for growth and self-discovery that I was looking for.

I won’t lie, I often doubted myself, and I often asked myself if I was ready for such a huge responsibility. In the end, I pushed through and just did the best that I could. (Not to brag, but I think I did a great job lol.)

As Head of Human Resources, I found myself navigating complex situations and making decisions that impacted the entire team. The experience was both challenging and immensely rewarding. It’s incredible to think about how much I’ve grown in a relatively short span of time, and I credit that growth to Pearl Lemon.

Looking back, I’m grateful for the opportunities I was given and the relationships I built during my time at Pearl Lemon. While the learning curve was steep, the support I received was unwavering.

The journey from an HR graduate to the Head of Human Resources taught me that with the right support, determination, and a willingness to embrace challenges, remarkable growth is possible. It is a testament to the limitless possibilities that await. Pearl Lemon is definitely the foundation of my professional journey.
