About Abbie's Experience!
Hello everyone! My name is Frances Abbie G. Aquino, one of the virtual assistants here in Pearl Lemon and I will share with you my learnings and experiences here in Pearl Lemon.
Applying here in Pearl Lemon was a roller coaster ride as I really didn’t have any work experience at all. It’s a combination of insecurity, nervousness, and excitement. I was hesitant to apply at first but after watching the video of Deepak – the owner of the company, under the application form, my hesitations suddenly vanished. His video showed and gave encouragement before and after the application. 3 days later, HR contacted me and luckily, I was given a chance to prove myself as I still need to undergo a training series for 1 week.
To be honest, I have no idea about the actual work of a virtual assistant, but I always hear it especially when the pandemic caused by Covid19 was just starting.
I was full of anxiety and doubts about myself during the trial week, I’m not a perfectionist person but during that time, I always felt like I’m not doing it right even if my trainers gave me positive feedback. My training period ended and with that, even if full of doubts, I congratulated myself for making it that far.
I was so happy when they told me that I passed the training and I can’t explain what I really feel at that moment. I promised myself that I would really cherish this opportunity as this is my first job and I don’t want to fail the company.
As a virtual assistant, my tasks are all-around. Sometimes, the other teams are asking help from us such as editing transcripts, sometimes, they are asking for help with things they need to research, and edit websites, but I mainly focus more on emails and date entries wherein we also launch campaigns, do data cleanings, send a follow-up email for the prospects of our clients, do reportings, etc. I never heard of SEO and lead generation before and even though I heard of them, I still don’t have any idea about them as just as I had said a while ago, I don’t have any work experience at all and this is just my first job.
Thanks to Pearl Lemon, I learned many things that are essential not just in this field of work but also in real life. I
Thanks to the owner, Deepak Shukla for constantly pushing me to be more productive and indispensable. I’m not a tech-savvy person but because of my job, I learned how to work smart and I learned the easier ways how to do things using the tools that they use here in Pearl Lemon.
I discovered something new about myself. I pushed my limits to test my capabilities and will continue pushing myself for more improvement which will help me not just today but also in the future. With the guidance of Chill, the one who supervises us, and as a senior virtual assistant, I feel more responsible when it comes to our team and to my co-virtual assistants. There will always be pressure and constant doubts about what I can do but I will accept it with all my might as this will help me boost my skills and knowledge with things I’m not good at.
