Interning as a social media manager for Pearl Lemon was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The flexibility and freedom that comes with working remotely allowed me to balance my work, personal life, and school in a way that I never thought was possible.

One of the biggest advantages of working for a remote agency is the flexibility it provides. I was able to set my own hours and work from anywhere with an internet connection. Being able to work from anywhere was incredibly liberating, and it allowed me to structure my workday in a way that worked best for me.

Despite working remotely, I still felt very connected to my team. We had regular virtual meetings and check-ins, which allowed us to stay in touch and collaborate effectively. We used a variety of communication tools, such as Zoom and WhatsApp, which made it easy to stay connected even when we were miles apart. 

As a social media manager, my job was to create manage social media accounts and grow them as much as possible. Working remotely meant that I had to be highly organized and self-disciplined. I had to manage my time effectively to ensure that I was meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work. However, the flexibility of working remotely meant that I could structure my workday in a way that allowed me to be most productive. For example, I found that I was most productive at the night, so I would often start work as others were going to sleep. 

In terms of communication, I found that working remotely required more effort and intentionality. We had to be more deliberate in our communication, as we couldn’t just walk over to a colleague’s desk to ask a question. However, I found that this forced us to be more concise and effective in our communication. We had to be clear and direct in our messages, which helped us work more efficiently.

Overall, my experience working as a social media manager for Pearl Lemon was incredibly positive. The flexibility, diversity, and freedom that came with working remotely were huge advantages, and I loved the sense of independence it provided. While remote work isn’t for everyone, I found that it was a great fit for me, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who values flexibility and independence in their career.
