G’day guys! Names Dash, and I’m super proud to say I’m a part of the Pearl Lemon team here, as a content writer from Australia!
My work sums up to be your typical writer who does guest blogs, preview descriptions, and sometimes dabbling in service pages for a variety of our different clients. I’m also looking to expand and help the company with its video creator projects.
A fun fact about me is I also do pet sitting alongside my writing job- and I’m really passionate about both! 🙂
Animals just melt my heart, so being able to take care of them is both fun and important to me. A big bonus of working for PL is quite frequently, the things I get to write about involve pet businesses and learning exciting bits of information on a wide range of topics!
How I Found Pearl Lemon
I’d just graduated from college, and COVID was still pretty impactful on where I live. Us Australians rely a lot on tourism for our success as a country, so we were suffering quite a lot. A lot of places needed employees badly, but I couldn’t match their requirements.
I was searching all over the internet to find the right job that would be good for me, and since I’m the kind of guy that has a bit of social anxiety and issues communicating due to being neurodivergent, it was a bit of a struggle.
I’d searched high and low trying to find the right job for myself with little to no avail. I’d applied to so many places coffee shops, vet clinics, receptionist jobs, anything you can think of that a college student should be easily able to handle, but it was either they’d already found better employees, I wasn’t qualified enough, or they’d had too many applicants! So much stress kept formulating- until I found my savior. Pearl Lemon.
On a popular Australia-known job finder app, I found the PL agency advertising a variety of career opportunities for people just like me. The one that stood out to me the most though was “Email Copy Writer.” Writing in general was something I’d always been passionate about, and the company, as well as the opportunity, honestly sounded too good to be true.
I admit I was a bit skeptical at first, but soon found the most amazing group of people I’ve ever met. 😅
My Time At Pearl Lemon
At the time of me writing this, I’m 3, almost 4 months into working with the Pearl Lemon team and don’t plan to be stopping any time soon!
The hiring process was super simple, and I loved the way that they went around doing it! You were given clear and direct communication throughout the entire process, a couple of emails to be exchanged, a cover letter and resume, all the basic stuff that jobs start you off with.
But then you were given the task to be linked to go through basic but necessary questions with an AI, whilst then doing a video of yourself answering more interview questions to see how you do when responding, whether you’re able to handle answering questions within one to two takes of recordings.
I found the whole experience really fun and made me want to work with Pearl Lemon a whole lot more. After the AI interview-like experience was done, and all of the recordings, I was later contacted by one of the team members who directed me throughout the process with efficiency and extreme professionalism!
I felt comfortable the entire time during the employment process, and even during it, I was offered a more suitable and higher known role as a content writer, which I found to be much more my speed.
Pearl Lemon and their team know just what’s right for them and what’s right for you, with a more than just way of understanding what you’re good at and not. They believe in you, even when you’re unsure of it yourself. ❤️🔥
What Do You Even Do?
At Pearl Lemon, we as content writers are given keywords and weblinks by our team leaders, when we are commissioned by companies and businesses, to research and discover what the topic is about, whilst writing about it.
For example, when we’re writing guest blogs, questions that people frequently ask about a specific topic are discussed, how the product, brand, business, or company will benefit them, and whether or not it’s worth their time and money. Our main job is to answer all of those types of questions and more.
A less common part for me personally, is writing preview descriptions for Pearl Lemon. So this entails whenever someone searches up something on a search engine, say for example an SEO for local businesses on Google, then under the title for the regular link that you see, there’s a little description about the site and what’s available for you.
It’s important for the preview descriptions to be appealing to potential viewers and customers so that we as a business are able to generate income and reach larger audiences so we’re able to help them with their journey of advertising and building more revenue.
Is Pearl Lemon Worth It?
Working with Pearl Lemon and being a part of their team, has been, and will forever be, one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. 🙂
If you’re the kind of person that’s wanting to work with a group of people who are just like a family, with goals that are supported by a team, then Pearl Lemon is the right place for you to be.
I’ve never met more of a beautiful bunch of people who are headstrong, get things done effectively and in a timely manner, and are overall a positive bunch. As someone who’s never had a job before PL, this has got to be one of the best places to start.
You as an individual work yourself up from the bottom to the top over time, while receiving help when needed and full understanding from your team leader, so you can be the best that you can be.
I’m the kind of person who feels like an outcast in most situations and environments, but there’s something about Pearl Lemon that doesn’t make me feel that way. They help you to step out of your comfort zone, try new things, deal with problems, and fix errors in a positive work environment.
They’ve given me a new perspective on what working is, and that while money is of personal importance, how much time you put into your work, the people you meet, and the friends you make along the way, are important too for both you and the company.
Because of the company, and the people who are involved, I have the ability to learn and grow more as a person, and I’ll never be more grateful. 😀
