Content Writing Intern
The story started
About Olanrewaju Habeeb Experience!
The day I got my offer letter from Pearl Lemon, I was so happy. I still remember how I felt that morning when I opened my email and saw “Welcome to the Pearl Lemon Family, Your Career Journey Starts Now 🚀.” I was smiling all through because, for me, it was something new and big. I have always wanted a space to grow my writing skills, and getting that offer felt like a dream come true.
The letter came from the HR team, signed under Pearl Lemon Group, and it had all the details clearly written. It said my position was SEO Content Writer, and that my placement would start on 29 August 2025 for three months. It also mentioned that it was a remote-based, unpaid internship, and I would be working under Vibha Singh, reporting to Nidafor documentation. I was in Kwara State when I got it, and I didn’t even care that it was unpaid, I just wanted to learn and be part of something that would push me to grow.
That same day, I received a warm welcome from Bahati, the HR who attended to me. She explained everything to me calmly and made sure I was settled in. She also mentioned that Vibha would be the one to guide me through everything I needed to know about content writing at Pearl Lemon.
Honestly, at that moment, I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew I had to give it my best.
Meeting Vibha (The Beginning of My Learning Journey)
From the first day, Vibha made me feel very comfortable. She took her time to explain how things work in the company. She didn’t rush me or assume I already knew things. She gave tutorials, shared helpful videos, and even broke down how tasks are done.
My first assignment was to research and write “Top 20 Statistics About Popular Social Media Apps.” I can’t lie, it was a bit hectic for me at first. I was new to the process, and understanding SEO writing and formatting felt strange. But Vibha’s guidance made a huge difference. She didn’t just tell me what to do; she showed me how to do it.
I started learning how to structure my content, how to make research properly, and how to use the right keywords in articles. At first, it took me hours to complete one simple task. But as time went on, I got better.
When I finished that first assignment, Vibha reviewed it and gave me her feedback. She also told me I did well for a start. That small encouragement gave me a lot of confidence. It made me believe that I could really do this.
Moving to the SEO Content Team with Habibah
After a few weeks, Vibha told me she didn’t have many projects at hand at that moment, so she decided to introduce me to Habibah, who is part of the SEO Content team. Funny enough, she’s my name sake, and just like Vibha, she’s also a very kind and calm person.
When I started working with Habibah, things became even more interesting. She explained the company’s style of writing again, showed me examples, and made sure I understood everything clearly. She’s the type of person that doesn’t rush you, no matter how small your question is. She always says, “Take your time, you’ll get used to it.”
We started working together on service pages and other content that needed to be completed urgently. Sometimes there would be client blog posts with tight deadlines, and they’d divide the work among interns like me. We all worked together to make sure the content was ready on time.
Even though it was sometimes tiring, I enjoyed it because I was learning so much. I began to understand not just writing, but also how a real company operates and how teamwork helps everyone grow.
The Support and Mentorship
One thing I love about Pearl Lemon is how supportive everyone is. No one ever makes you feel small or less experienced. Vibha and Habibah both encouraged me and always made sure I understood my tasks.
There were times when I made mistakes, like missing a heading tag or formatting wrongly, but instead of shouting or getting upset, they corrected me calmly and explained what I should do next time.
That kind of patience is rare, and it really motivated me to keep improving.
At some point, both Vibha and Habibah commended my efforts and cooperation, especially how I handled my work and responded quickly. That meant a lot to me because it showed that my little efforts were being noticed.
Learning About SEO and Content Writing
Before joining Pearl Lemon, I didn’t really understand what SEO meant in depth. I used to think writing was just about putting words together. But after a few weeks, I started learning that there’s a whole structure and strategy behind every piece of content.
I learned how to use keywords correctly, how to write meta descriptions, how to create headings that attract attention, and how to make content readable for both humans and search engines.
I also learned about content research, how to write for clients with different tones and needs, and how to maintain originality even when writing about similar topics.
The best part is that every new task pushed me to think differently. I stopped rushing my writing and started focusing on clarity, purpose, and flow.
Challenges I Faced
It wasn’t all easy, honestly. The first few weeks were tough because I was still adjusting to how things were done.
The time difference was another challenge since we worked with British Summer Time (BST), and I’m in Nigeria. Sometimes I had to keep track of the time to make sure I didn’t miss deadlines or messages.
Also, working remotely means you have to discipline yourself. There’s no one standing behind you to check if you’re working or not. You have to motivate yourself. But I slowly got used to it.
There were also days when we had urgent deadlines, and I had to stay longer to make sure everything was ready. But looking back now, I can say all those challenges helped me grow stronger.
Joining the Company Live Meetings
One of the things I enjoy the most is joining the Friday company live meetings. That’s when everyone in the company, from interns to top staff, come together to talk about growth, progress, and challenges.
Seeing Deepak and other team members discuss strategies and ideas inspires me every time. It shows how much work goes into building a company like Pearl Lemon. Even though I’m an intern, I always feel included.
Those meetings remind me that I’m part of something big, something that’s making real impact globally.
The People and the Culture
If there’s one thing I’ll never forget, it’s the culture of teamwork and communication at Pearl Lemon. Everyone is treated with respect. We all learn from one another, no matter the role or level.
It’s also a very open company. You can always reach out to anyone if you have a question or need help. There’s no barrier.
I’ve met amazing people through this internship, people who are dedicated, hardworking, and smart. It feels good to be surrounded by like minds who share the same hunger for growth.
My Growth So Far
Looking back at when I started, I can proudly say I’ve grown a lot. I now understand SEO content writing better, I write faster, and I research smarter.
I’ve also learned how to manage time, communicate better, and handle multiple tasks without losing focus.
The best part is that I now have more confidence in my writing. I can take on new topics, structure my work properly, and even help others who are new.
My Hope Going Forward
I know this internship is just for three months, but deep down, I really wish to continue with the Pearl Lemon team after it ends.
This company has given me more than I expected. I’ve gained knowledge, mentorship, and experience that will always stay with me.
If I get the opportunity to extend my stay or move into a paid role, I’ll gladly take it. Working with people like Vibha, Habibah, Bahati, and others has been a blessing.
Pearl Lemon feels like home already, and I truly appreciate every moment of my journey here.
